When arriving at the Mainport hotel on a cold and windy Saturday morning, we got greeted very friendly by the hotel staff. They took our luggage and we went off to the city.
We walked to the city, as the Mainport hotel is so close to every highlight you want to see in Rotterdam. We went off to have a lunch at GYS and see the Peter Lindbergh exposition at the Kunsthal. Afterwards, we walked back to the hotel and heard that we got a room upgrade!
The glass elevator (with a beautiful water view) brought us to the sixth level and once opened the door, we couldn't actually describe what we saw. The first thing we saw: a jacuzzi in front of the window, overlooking the oldest inner harbour of Rotterdam! Do you know those Pinterest boards with a nice bath in the bedroom and a lovely view over the city? Yes, it was exactly like that. And in the bathroom, there was our own private sauna! The name 'Spa Room' was definitely worth it.
Packing for the Mainport hotel, we already brought our swimming suits, because we heard there was a spa with a sauna, hammam and massage treatments. But we actually didn't visit the spa at all, as we spend all the time in our own private spa - and even had to hurry for our breakfast in the morning. Breakfast with live cooking! Besides eggs and pancakes, they even had oatmeal porridge with a huge amount of fresh fruits. Heaven!
And oops, we didn't see much of the city because of this lovely experience at the Mainport hotel, but I will definitely come back to Rotterdam soon!
