The pure and innocent Gerbera is also called a birth flower!

I got to give away this beautiful swaddle by Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl to a lovely baby! I love how talented Hyshil Sander portrayed the Gerbera on the swaddle, as the pure and innocent Gerbera is also called a birth flower. That is why it is commonly gifted to new mothers; it represents fertility and motherhood.

The Gerbera is also called a Daisy, which they say is derived from the Old English saying “day’s eye.” This is because the daisy closes at night and opens in the morning upon the first touch of sunlight. The term “fresh as a daisy” is derived from this meaning, which means that someone has had a good night’s sleep.
